Bringing together flavours of warmth, tradition and indulgence, these waffle hot-cross-bun ice-cream sandwiches deliver a delectable dessert experience for Easter.
Ingredients
1/2 cup mixed dried fruit
1L vanilla ice-cream
8 Woolworths traditional fruit hot cross buns
5mL extra virgin olive oil cooking spray
1/3 cup caramel sauce
Directions
Step 1
Add dried fruit to ice-cream and gently mix until just combined. Place ice-cream in the freezer to chill until ready to use.
Step 2
Slice 8 hot cross buns in half and spray the top and bottom of each bun with oil. Toast, in batches, in a waffle maker for 1 minute or until toasted. Set aside to cool.
Step 3
Place 1 scoop of ice-cream on each bun base. Drizzle 1 tbs caramel sauce over ice-cream. Top with bun lids. Serve immediately.
