Step 1

Preheat waffle maker. Spray with oil to grease.

Turn leftover roast chicken into a delectable weeknight meal with these easy-to-make chicken and spinach lasagne roll-ups.

Ingredients

1 tbs extra virgin olive oil

200g mushrooms, sliced

120g baby spinach

1 cup shredded skinless Woolworths country style hot roast chicken , shredded

1/2 cup stuffing from chicken

188g Woolworths smooth ricotta

1 cup Woolworths shredded mozzarella, cheddar & parmesan blend

400g canned Woolworths diced Italian tomatoes with onion, garlic & basil

375g fresh lasagne sheets, halved

5mL extra virgin olive oil cooking spray

1/3 punnet thyme, sprigs picked

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add mushroom and cook for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add spinach and cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes or until wilted. Remove from heat. Cool slightly. Place spinach mixture in a medium bowl. Add chicken, stuffing, ricotta and half of the cheese. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Step 2

Whisk half of the tomato and 2 tbs water in a jug. Pour over base of a 20x30cm (base) baking dish. For each roll, place a lasagne sheet on a clean work surface. Place 1/4 cup chicken mixture at the end closest to you and roll up to form a log. Place log, seam-side down, in prepared dish. Repeat with remaining lasagne sheets and chicken mixture.

Step 3

Top with remaining tomato and remaining cheese. Spray with oil. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Sprinkle with thyme. Serve.

Step 1

Roughly chop the remaining egg and place in a small saucepan with milk, cocoa and vanilla. Stir over low heat for 5 minutes or until melted and combined.

Step 3

Pour hot chocolate into egg sitting in mug. Top with marshmallows, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings. Serve immediately.

Ingredients

1/2 cup mixed dried fruit

1L vanilla ice-cream

8 Woolworths traditional fruit hot cross buns

5mL extra virgin olive oil cooking spray

1/3 cup caramel sauce

Step 1

Add dried fruit to ice-cream and gently mix until just combined. Place ice-cream in the freezer to chill until ready to use.

Step 2

Slice 8 hot cross buns in half and spray the top and bottom of each bun with oil. Toast, in batches, in a waffle maker for 1 minute or until toasted. Set aside to cool.

1 cup chopped fresh pineapple

150ml prosecco

500g rump steak

Preheat a barbecue or chargrill pan to medium-high heat. Brush beef with 1 tbs oil. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Grill beef for 3 minutes each side for medium-rare or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate. Cover and rest for 10 minutes. Slice.

Step 2

Meanwhile, place tomato and nectarine in a large bowl. Add vinegar and remaining oil and toss to combine. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Step 3

Place beef, tomato mixture and burrata on a platter. Drizzle with any excess liquid from tomato. Serve sprinkled with basil.

1. Drink lots of water

Drinking water helps keep your body hydrated, which in turn helps your skin.

A new study has shown that drinking just two cups of water can increase blood flow, which can help give your skin an even tone.

Between 50% and 80% of your body is made up of water, and if your body is dehydrated, it won’t function as well across the board.

While drinking more water is always a good thing, it won’t help reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines.

Maintaining a skincare routine is one of the best things you can do for your skin.

2. Maintain a good skincare routine

It’s important to maintain a good skincare routine that is gentle on your skin and can also reduce the signs of ageing.

As daily cleansing can dry out your skin, be gentle with your skin and avoid using a harsh or strong soap, especially if you’re repeatedly washing your skin.

The American Academy of Dermatology Association recommends that you should moisturise your skin if it is dry or itchy to help keep your skin refreshed and hydrated.

If you’re older, you may find that moisturising daily can help keep your skin healthy, as the oil glands that keep your skin healthy create fewer oils and need to be replenished more often.

3. Use sunscreen to protect your skin

As we live in Australia, protecting your skin from the sun is an important step in your skincare routine.

This is because a lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, sun spots, and more.

Kylie recommends maintaining your sunscreen application even in the colder months.

“Because of the Australian climate, everyone is hyperaware of using sunscreen during the warmer months. However, it’s just as important to use sunscreen in the winter as Australia has a high UV rating all year round.

“Just because the sun isn’t out doesn’t mean you can’t get burned. This is especially the case if you’re engaging in winter sports, such as skiing or snowboarding, as the sun can reflect off the snow and burn your skin.”

Using a high-SPF sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily can protect your skin from the sun as well as prevent wrinkles.

4. Take supplements that can help your skin

We recommend speaking to your doctor before starting any new supplements, but depending on your skin concern, supplements can help.

“Everyone has their skin concerns that are individual to them, but there are a range of supplements that can help you. Some supplements support general well-being, whereas others that include omega-3s can help with acne,” explains Kylie.

Supplements that include collagen or omega-3s4 can help reduce the physical appearance of wrinkles, but supplements can’t replace a balanced diet and staying hydrated.

5. Maintain a healthy lifestyle  

Last but not least, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is highly important for looking after your skin.

“Healthy skin isn’t just what you put on your skin; it also comes from the inside. That’s why maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including limiting alcohol intake, getting enough sleep, and eating enough fruits and vegetables, can help keep your skin looking great,” Kylie clarified.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle isn’t only good for your skin, but your whole body as well. Your diet and your skin health are closely linked, so making sure you’re eating healthier can help your skin more than you think.

200g shredded iceberg lettuce

4 Woolworths colby cheese slices

40g double smoked leg ham slices

40g hot Hungarian salami slices

2 tomatoes, thickly sliced

1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

8 Woolworths pitted Kalamata olives

2 tbs Woolworths whole egg mayonnaise

2 tsp red wine vinegar

Step 1

Tip lettuce onto a large chopping board. Top with cheese, ham, salami, tomato, onion and olives. Use a large heavy knife to chop.

Holding a roll base in one hand, use the flat side of a large knife or bench scraper in the other hand to scoop one-quarter of the mixture into the roll. Top with the lid to enclose. Repeat with remaining rolls and mixture. Serve.

The Sparkling Tequila Rose is a bold blend of flavours that’s sure to impress. Made with Don Julio Tequila, rose, lime and, agave, this cocktail gets a zesty kick from jalapeno and a perfectly tangy tajin-rimmed glass. Topped with sparkling water for a refreshing finish, it’s the ultimate mix of heat and fizz for any occassion.

Ingredients

• 30ml Dona Julio Tequila from BWS - Windsor

• 1 jalapeno

• 60ml rose

• 15ml lime juice, plus extra for rim

• 15ml agave syrup

• Tajin for rim

• Sparkling water

Method

1. Thinly slice the jalapeno then freeze

2. Add Don Julio Tequila, rose, lime juice, agave syrup and ice to a shaker. Shake.

3. Dip the rim of the glass in lime juice, then in the tajin.

4. Add ice to a glass and strain over the tequila mix.

5. Top with sparkling water and garnish with frozen jalapeno slices.

This simple treat is the perfect combination of sweet and salty with its crispbread base and decadent layers of caramel and chocolate. The Christmas sprinkles add a festive touch.

Ingredients

6 Salada original crispbread

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

125g unsalted butter, chopped

200g Woolworths milk cooking chocolate, chopped

200g Woolworths dark cooking chocolate, chopped

2 tbs Christmas sprinkles

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease and line a 3cm-deep, 20x30cm lamington pan with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above edge on all sides.

Step 2

Arrange crackers, in a single layer, over the base of the prepared pan.

Step 3

Place sugar and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring for 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth and melted. Bring to the boil. Boil for 1 minute or until thickened. Pour mixture evenly over crispbread in pan, spreading to cover. Bake for 5 minutes or until caramel is bubbling. Set aside.

Step 4

Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring with a metal spoon halfway through cooking, or until smooth. Pour over caramel and spread out evenly. Sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles. Chill for 2 hours or until set. Break into pieces. Serve.
