Spring Is Here. So Is Hay Fever.

Fresh Air, Fresh Home, Fewer Irritations

Spring brings warmer days, longer afternoons and plenty of reasons to get outside. It can also bring a less welcome seasonal visitor: hay fever and allergies.

A few simple changes to your daily routine can help you manage the season, from keeping pollen and dust under control at home to washing off after time outdoors. We’ve rounded up some easy essentials to have on hand at Windsor Marketplace.

1. Allergy Essentials

Three simple additions for the season

When hay fever strikes, having the right essentials within reach can make spring days more comfortable. Blooms The Chemist can help you find suitable options for your needs, with pharmacists available to provide advice on allergy and hay fever products.

Zyrtec Kids Allergy & Hayfever Relief

Grape-flavoured antihistamine liquid designed to help relieve allergy and hay fever symptoms in children.

Visine Advanced Eye Drops

Three lubricants help soothe sore, dry and red eyes caused by common irritants such as dust, wind and smoke.

Dymista Allergy Nasal Spray 17mL

A dual-action nasal spray designed to treat moderate to severe allergic rhinitis and hay fever symptoms.

Speak with your Blooms The Chemist pharmacist about which products may be suitable for you.

2. Spring Clean

Five places worth giving extra attention

Pollen and dust can make their way indoors, so spring is a good time to give your home a proper refresh. Regular cleaning can help keep surfaces and soft furnishings feeling fresher throughout the season.

Pick up your spring-cleaning essentials at Woolworths, including:

  • Vacuum and floor-cleaning essentials

  • Surface and multi-purpose cleaners

  • Disinfecting products

  • Laundry detergent

  • Fabric and bedding care essentials

Give extra attention to floors, surfaces, bedding, curtains and other areas where dust can settle.

3. Wash the Day Away

Three everyday essentials for after the outdoors

After a day outside, a quick shower can help wash pollen from your skin and hair before you settle in for the evening.

Keep these three basics stocked at home:

  • Shampoo to wash pollen from your hair

  • Body wash for a fresh post-outdoor shower

  • Everyday body care to keep your routine feeling clean and comfortable

Find your shower and body-care essentials at Woolworths.

A Fresher Spring Starts at Windsor Marketplace

Spring is all about enjoying more time outdoors. With a few practical habits and the right essentials on hand, you can spend less time worrying about the seasonal irritations and more time enjoying the season. From allergy essentials to a full spring clean and everyday body care, find what you need at Windsor Marketplace.

Always follow product directions and speak with a pharmacist or healthcare professional if you need advice about managing allergies.

Father’s Day: Make a Day of It

to 7 Sept

Father’s Day: Make a Day of It

Dad says he doesn’t need anything. Sure.

This Father’s Day, skip the predictable gift hunt and make the day feel a little more considered. From something he can enjoy, a little self-care, a handwritten note and a proper lunch, there are plenty of ways to make Dad feel like the main character for the day.

Say It With Something He’ll Enjoy

Pick up a bottle of 1800 Tequila from BWS and give Dad something he can actually enjoy. Whether he has a go-to favourite or you’re looking for something a little different, it’s an easy way to make Father’s Day feel a little more special.

A Little Note Goes a Long Way

Head to Woolworths for a Father’s Day card and write something he’ll genuinely appreciate. Funny, sentimental or somewhere in between — a few words from you can turn a simple card into something he’ll keep.

Fresh Cut, Fresh Dad

Book Dad in for a fresh cut at Luxury Barber. A tidy-up, some well-earned me-time and he walks out feeling ready for whatever the day has planned.

Give Him a Little Reset

Pop into Blooms The Chemist for health and wellness picks that make looking after himself a little easier. A practical gift for the Dad who likes to keep things simple — but still wants to look after his skin.

Tell Him to Put His Feet Up

Treat Dad to a massage at Nature Massage Centre. It’s the kind of gift he might not think to book for himself — but will definitely appreciate once he’s on the table and properly relaxing.

And Then… Feed Him

Wrap up the day with a Father’s Day lunch at Cafe Red. Grab a table, order his favourites and actually sit down and enjoy some time together. No cooking, no dishes — just good food and a proper catch-up.

Make the Day About Dad

The best Father’s Day gifts don’t have to be complicated. A thoughtful card, something he enjoys, a fresh cut, a little pampering and lunch together can turn a regular Sunday into a day he’ll remember.

Father’s Day is Sunday 6 September. Make the trip, tick off the gift list and give Dad a day that feels like it was made just for him.

The best way to enjoy winter? Spending less time feeling under the weather.

Colder weather often brings more than just cosy nights and warm drinks—it also brings sniffles, coughs, and seasonal bugs. While you can't avoid winter altogether, there are a few simple ways to help protect yourself and support your immune system throughout the season.

Protect Yourself with a Flu Vaccine

One appointment now could help save you weeks of feeling unwell.

Getting your annual flu vaccine is one of the most effective ways to reduce your risk of influenza and help protect those around you, especially young children, older adults, and vulnerable family members.

Visit Blooms The Chemist - Windsor Marketplace to book your flu vaccination and check whether you're eligible for a free flu vaccine under the National Immunisation Program.

Give Your Immune System Extra Support

Healthy habits start with the little things.

Alongside good sleep, a balanced diet, and staying active, supporting your immune system can help you feel your best throughout winter.

Pick up Blackmores Bio C Vitamin Immune Support Tablets from Woolworths to help support your daily vitamin C intake as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Simple Ways to Stay Well This Winter

Looking after yourself doesn't have to be complicated. A few small steps can go a long way:

  • Wash your hands regularly.

  • Stay hydrated, even on cooler days.

  • Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

  • Get enough sleep each night.

  • Stay home if you're feeling unwell to help protect others.

Enjoy winter with confidence

Whether you're booking your flu vaccination or stocking up on everyday wellness essentials, Windsor Marketplace has everything you need to help you and your family stay well this season.

Why you need sunscreen in Winter
June
15
to 31 July

Why you need sunscreen in Winter

Just because you can’t see or feel the sun this Winter doesn’t mean that you’re not being affected by UV rays. Sunburn can develop within 15 minutes of being in the Australian sun. We delve into why you need to keep putting on sunscreen during Winter.

What is sunscreen?

Sunscreen helps to protect your skin from the damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. There are two different types of UV levels, which are ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB). UVA rays damage your skin cells, which can cause premature ageing and some types of skin cancer. UVB rays cause sunburn.

When do I need to use sunscreen?

In many parts of Australia, UV levels are level three or above during the Winter months.

This means that the UV index is moderate and that you need to take extra steps to protect your skin, including sunscreen, staying out of the sun and wearing a hat.

Many people use a UV index which can tell you the times during the day where you might need extra sun protection. You can find the UV levels in your city by checking the UV index through the Bureau of Meteorology.

How can I add sunscreen into my daily routine?

You can add sunscreen into your daily routine by adding it to a habit that you’ve already built, like brushing your teeth or after you’ve moisturised your skin. Cetaphil promotes a routine of CMP – Cleanse, Moisturise and Protect.

It’s best to use a sunscreen that is SPF 30 and above, waterproof and broad spectrum.

Broad-spectrum sunscreen means that you’re protected against the harmful rays of both UVA and UVB.

Cetaphil Daily Defence Cream SPF 50 found at Blooms The Chemist - Windsor Marketplace protects your skin and provides a physical defence against UVA and UVB rays with 120 minutes of water resistance. It is a lightweight mineral formulation and is non-irritating and invisible. It’s designed for daily use on your face and neck and is dermatologist-tested for sensitive skin.

It’s important to use sunscreen correctly; apply sunscreen 20 minutes before you expose yourself to the sun, reapply after swimming or bathing, and stay sun-safe with UV protection sunglasses, protective clothing, and seeking shade.
